ABOUT SAMTEN DRIME:

Samten Drime is a fully ordained monk in the Karma Kagyu tradition.  He has completed 12 years in retreat - six years in Samye Dechen Shing Men’s Retreat on the Isle of Arran in Scotland, followed by another six years in Sekhar Retreat in Nepal.

In both retreats he was under the direction of Drupon Khen Rinpoche, from whom he has received a wide range of teachings.

Samten’s role is as a Dharma Helper.  With easily understandable, clear and down to earth teachings he will help old and new practitioners alike to deepen their understanding of basic practice and meditation.

In these troubled times Samten’s guidance may prove more practical and relevant than teachings on advanced practices and high philosophical views. Join for a session, or the whole weekend!

Why Learn to Meditate?
One purpose of meditation is to stop the mind rushing about in an aimless stream of thoughts and worry. Meditation can help to still the mind.

Meditation can also give you a sense of calm, peace and balance that can benefit both your emotional well-being and your overall health. And these benefits don't end when your meditation session ends. A steadier mind can help carry you more calmly through your day and learned meditation techniques may help you manage symptoms of certain medical conditions.
