About the event
All tantric Buddhism is divided into four tantras: first is kriya tantra, then charya tantra, yoga tantra and anuttarayoga tantra. Green Tara practice is more connected to the kriya tantra, and it says that the kriya yoga tantra was based a lot on the daily life of the rishis and brahmins in India. It places a lot of emphasis on purity of actions, purity of daily life. Everything has to be very clean and it is advised to do this practice in the morning before breakfast as this helps ensure no meat or alcohol has been consumed beforehand.
There are many benefits to doing Green Tara practice. It can be said that Green Tara is a stainless mirror reflecting the truth of our innate, awakened nature, which is temporarily obscured to us. Through Green Tara practice, we gradually lift the veils that keep us from recognizing that our body, speech, and mind are inseparable from her awakened body, speech, and mind.
During these practice sessions you will be taken through Green Tara Puja's, and have the chance to ask questions about this practice, as well as any other questions that arise.
You are most welcome to sit and listen, or join in the Puja. All are welcome, of any faith or none.
